Redefining the relationship between music and performance with interior style.

Connecting with Dan at Coach House Pianos during our visit to Decorex, Olympia, London, in 2024 marked the start of a collaborative relationship.

Dan was playing an Alpange piano – considered to be the new era of the instrument. Visually striking, it redefines how musicians compose and play. In the busy environment of the show, the music felt delicate and calming, allowing you to focus on one thing: the sound.

Colour and light can have the same effect on us as sound; they can help us feel rested and grounded. After discussing some ideas, Dan and the Wellwood Group decided to collaborate on their exclusive event to launch this innovative instrument.

Leaning into a dark palette, we drenched the room entirely, removing any contrasting detail, which allowed the guests to fully absorb the sound and feel of the music. Adding a soft organic gradient rug helped to ground the space and enhance the acoustics. We transformed a blank space into an immersive and atmospheric environment.

To further support the event, we also loaned Our ‘Letters from London’ artworks by Malene Birger. Malene painted the extensive series of works while she lived in Kensington, and it almost felt like the notes had jumped off the keys and onto the walls of the Chelsea showroom.
